SLR April 23 - Fort Scott Hill

Hello Saturday Runners!

Our route this week on Saturday, April 23, will be 10.75 miles to Fort Scott Hill (additional map here). This route is out-and-back, so for a shorter run you can simply turn around at any point along the way. For a longer run, on your way back to the start you can take a right turn on the Mt. Vernon Trail and run past the airport towards Old Town for as much more mileage as you like. This great spring weather continues, and it looks like we'll have another beautiful day on Saturday, as long as the forecasted rain stays on Friday!

Thanks this week go to Rochelle Basil for post-run beverages! We're going to need more post-run volunteers in just a few weeks, as well as mid-run volunteers starting in June, so please start thinking ahead and let me know how you'll be able to help. Up-to-date future volunteer needs and a route schedule are always posted on our web page, and you can email me to schedule your slot. For mid-run beverages, any week you're able to volunteer is appreciated, but for post-run beverages it's best if you can cover two (or more!) consecutive weeks at a time, to cut down on hand-offs of the bins. If you enjoy or benefit from the entirely volunteer-supported beverages at our runs, please do your part - it's easy, and you'll be reimbursed for all expenses.

Happy running!

Mike
