Volunteers for 2015 Gar Williams Half Marathon

December 13th, 2015 - Carderock, MD

Have you ever wondered how DC Road Runners is able to put on what Runners World declared as the cheapest half marathon in the country? One simple answer: droves of great volunteers. Come support your fellow runners on a brisk December morning at Carderock, for the Gar Williams Half Marathon on December 13th!

Want to volunteer? Contact Brian Danza, brian@dcroadrunners.org

Volunteers for the 2016 Al Lewis 10 Miler

Saturday, January 9, 2016 - Kensington, MD

The club needs volunteers to help put on the Al Lewis 10 Miler in Kensington, Maryland. Volunteering during the race fulfills the Snowball Series requirement!

Want to volunteer? Contact Melody if you are available to help out before or during the race.

Volunteers for the 2016 JFK 20K & MLK 5K

Saturday, January 16, 2016 - Carderock, MD

The 2016 John F. Kennedy 20K and Martin Luther King 5K races will start and finish in Carderock and will be out and back on the C&O Canal Towpath. This is the perfect opportunity to volunteer if you want to honor two of our nation's leaders, but don't want to run the races, or if you just want to hang out with all your favority DCRR members! Also, volunteering during the races will count for Snowball Series credit!

Want to volunteer? Please contact Tim Arnade if you're able to help out before or during the races.

Volunteers for 2016 Langley 8k

Saturday, February 6, 2016 - Mclean, VA

The Langley 8K is an out-and back route with several twists and turns, so the club needs lots of volunteers to help keep everyone on course (seriously, the more volunteers, the less chance participants end up accidentally running a 10k..) We also need volunteers to help with race day registration and check-in. This race boasts a 10 am start (yay, sleeping in!) and lots of parking! Also, volunteering during the race fulfills the Snowball Series requirement.

Want to volunteer? Contact James Scarborough if you're available to help out before or during the race.

Volunteers for the 55th Annual GW Birthday Marathon!

Saturday, February 14, 2016 - Greenbelt, MD

DC Road Runners will be hosting the 55th Annual George Washington's Birthday Marathon and Marathon Relay on Saturday, February 14, 2016 in Greenbelt, MD. This race is a Boston qualifier with a local, small crowd feel.

The club needs lots of volunteers to put on this event on  race day, including course marshals, aid station personnel, food service at the post-race party, packet pick-up, course clean-up, as well as course set-up and packet pick-up on Saturday.

All volunteers will receive an AWESOME long sleeve volunteer tech shirt and plenty of free food throughout the day! Note: for people running the 2015-16 DCRRC Snowball Series races, volunteering at the George Washington Birthday Marathon fulfills your volunteer requirement (and is one of the few non-series race volunteer options for the series jacket requirement).

Please sign up here to volunteer or contact Alison Smith, alison@dcroadrunners.org, with any questions.

Volunteers for 2016 Burke Lake 12K

Sunday, March 6, 2016 - Fairfax, VA

The club needs lots of volunteers for the Burke Lake 12K for assisting with race day registration, course marshalling, and aid stations. Come out and volunteer with us if you have friends or family members running or you want to hang out with fellow members while helping out the club! Volunteering during the race fulfills the Snowball Series requirement.

Want to volunteer? Please contact George Getek

Volunteers for 2016 Fort Hunt 10K

Sunday, March 13, 2016 - Alexandria, VA

The club needs volunteers for the Fort Hunt 10K. This race features 5 laps around Fort Hunt Park, so volunteering gives you plenty of opportunities to cheer for your friends or family members that are running. Volunteering also counts for Snowball Series credit.

If you'd like to volunteer, please contact Paul

Constant Needs:

We are always looking for Saturday Long Run refreshment volunteers. If you plan to attend SLR for at least 2 consecutive weeks, and haven't volunteered in a while (or at all), please consider helping to support the group (and yourself)! This is a fairly easy job, all you have to do is bring gatorade, water, and cups to SLR on Saturday morning, and the club will reimburse the expenses (think of all the rewards points you can get!)  Please (read: please, please, pretty please) check the SLR Page for dates needed, and e-mail slr@dcroadrunners.org if you are able to help out!

To advertise a volunteer activity, contact Alison Smith at alison@dcroadrunners.org.
