SLR October 14 - Chain Bridge Loop

Hello Saturday Runners!

Don't forget that we're now meeting at 8:00 am! For those of you tapering to run Marine Corps next week, our run tomorrow will be a little shorter than usual, going for 10 miles on the Chain Bridge Loop (downloads: cue sheet and GPS). If you'd like a little more distance, you can easily start out on this route, and then turn off just after 3.5 miles to turn this into either a 12 or 14 mile run on the Marymount Chain Bridge route (downloads: cue sheet and GPS). Both versions of the route wind up on the C&O Canal Towpath in the second half, so that's also an option for tacking on as much mileage as you like. The weather on Saturday morning shouldn't be too hot, but relative humidity will still be high, so keep that in mind when deciding what fluids to carry, and remember that with the summer's end we no longer have organized mid-run drink stations.

Thank you Marzia T. for post-run drinks this week! Volunteer needs along with the weekly route & distance schedule are always kept up-to-date on the SLR web page, and you can email me any time to schedule your slot. For more details on how volunteering works, please see the SLR FAQ, or get in touch with me if your questions are not addressed there. SLR drinks are entirely volunteer supported, so if you regularly enjoy this perk, do your part to keep it going!
