SLR Oct 1 - Southeast/Waterfront

Hello Everyone!

This week's edition of SLR (Saturday Long Run) is the Southeast/Waterfront route with the Rec Center Loop, just over 14 miles. Updated directions and map are below. Be sure to thank Joe Emerson out on Anacostia Drive as he will be providing our mid-point beverages.

We still need volunteers for October's post-run beverages, ideally for the whole month but if you can only pick up the bins one week and drop off beverages the next, that would be great too. At this point we do not have a post-run beverage volunteer starting this Saturday. We also need volunteers for post-run beverages for all upcoming months. The club will reimburse volunteers for all the drinks/cups/etc.

Speaking of volunteering, if you see Kristin out there on some runs, be sure to thank her for the 2+ years that she gave in helping SLR run smoothly. Easily over 110 weeks of organizing routes, making sure beverages were covered, and welcoming new and veteran runners. These are some very big shoes to fill. Thanks Kristin!
