SLR April 2 - Battery Kemble

Hello Saturday Runners!

We'll return to a favorite route this week - Loops of Battery Kemble.  It begins with a very straightforward and mild run across Key Bridge and then onto the Capital Crescent, at which point you can either quit while you're ahead and enjoy the mild downhill of return on the Capital Crescent, or, if you are more of a glutton for punishment, you can tantalize yourself with views of the river and then turn up that lovely hill for a REAL workout.

This route will be ideal for anyone recovering from last week's marathon (provided you turn around before the big hill!!), anyone wanting to try SLR for the first time, or anyone who's enjoyed some serious off-season and wants to ease back into things.  Also it's great if you want to run a gazillion repeats of a rather steep uphill followed by a little trail to get you back to the base of that steep hill.  What could be better?

Thanks to Colleen Marzec for providing last month's post-run beverages and to Gary Morgans for providing tomorrow's and the rest of April's.  Our next volunteer need is for June, so let me know if you can help.  And of course, congratulations to all of our training program participants and to all others who completed the National Marathon last week!  We look forward to running with you all tomorrow and hearing the great stories and race reports!

Hope to see you tomorrow,

Kristin
