Hello Everyone!
This week's edition of SLR (Seriously Long Route!) is the 22+ mile Capital Crescent/Rock Creek Loop. Be sure to thank Lindsey Paola and Paul Westcott as they will be providing our midpoint beverages. They plan on being at the end of Susanna Lane where it meets up with the Rock Creek Trail.
If you're not planning on running 22 miles, it's easy to make this an out-and-back in order to meet your mileage goal. The cue sheet lists distances out to the 6.5 mile marker on the Capital Crescent trail (approx. 5 miles, for a 10 mile out-and-back) as well as the distance out to the Bethesda intersection (approx. 8 miles, for a 16 mile out-and-back). If you're looking for other distances, feel free to ask on Saturday morning.
Also, please thank Becky and Michelle for providing our drinks at the end of the run. We still need volunteers for the rest of the weeks in October as well as all of November. If you can pick up the bins this Saturday and bring back drinks next week, or for the rest of October, please let me know! Without volunteers we may not have drinks for the end of our runs.
The start time is still 7:00am for this week. We will switch to 8:00am on 10/15.
See you on Saturday and happy running!
