I've been getting a ton of emails-- thanks to all for your concern!
Yes, if the federal government, and therefore the zoo, are shut down tonight, we will choose a different route that does not require us to scale locked gates. Nobody has requested an alternative (and I just realized the one I was thinking of won't work either), so if someone does, that's the route we will do, and I'll send that update!
