2013 Evolution Sunrise 5K

We are thrilled to announce the Evolution Sunrise 5k Off-Road Run, to benefit CureSearch for Children's Cancer.

Evolution Health and Fitness is hosting a new, Memorial Weekend running event in downtown Vienna on Saturday, May 25th, at 8:00 am. The Evolution Sunrise 5k Off-Road Run will bring running participants and their families to downtown Vienna and the popular Viva Vienna Festival for a Saturday evening 1 mile Fun run/walk and then a 5k Off-Road Race. The run will start in front of Evolution Fitness, 216 Dominion Road, NE, and will utilize the W&OD Trail as well as Vienna’s Northside and Eudora Parks. The race adds a fun and healthy event to downtown Vienna during the annual Viva Vienna Festival held every Memorial holiday weekend. Viva Vienna is a three-day festival of carnival rides, music and food, as well as arts & crafts vendors.  Creating a run that begins just before Sunrise allows participants to complete the run and still have time to enjoy all of the festivities available at the Viva Vienna Festival. We hope that our race will become an annual tradition for you and your families!  

Please be advised that the 5k Run is partially off-road through the Northside and Eudora Parks before returning to the finish on the W&OD Trail. See the course map for more details.

Distance and course: The 5k race course will begin in front of Evolution Fitness, then head to the W&OD Trail and Northside Park. At least a third of the course is OFF ROAD so please plan accordingly, and watch your footing!

Timing and Awards: This race is timed using the Chronotrack timing system. Though this race is chip timed, scores will be determined by gun time for all award winners.
