Summer 2021 Volunteer Opportunities:

Credit Union Cherry Blossom

This year’s Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Race still needs volunteers, especially on race day morning.  They are in need of two males who can work at doping control for race morning. You will be assigned an athlete and escort them from finishing to medical. You will need to be there early for training and at least until 9:30 am.

Volunteering gets you a transferable guaranteed entry into the 2022 race. You also get a Volunteer shirt, and volunteering counts for 2021 Bunion Derby credit!

Click here to sign up at the CB10 volunteer website. Fill in your personal information and you’re all set.  Nita Roncone can answer any of your questions.

Women’s Distance Festival and Run After the Women 5k

September 18th at 8:00am at Bluemont Park Arlington, VA

The Women's Distance Festival 5K and Run After the Women 5K race is not possible without the help of volunteers – your time and energy are greatly appreciated, and we need lots of volunteers for this race. To sign up to volunteer, click here.

The start/finish line is near the South Pavilion of Bluemont Park in Arlington.  Plenty of free parking!  Click here for Google directions.  For bus transportation option consult: https://www.wmata.com/schedules/timetables/all-routes.cfm?State=VA.

If you have a preference for a volunteer position (e.g. registration, course marshal, water station, after-party coordinator, and setup/operations), please email jennifer@dcroadrunners.org.

We are looking for club members interested in gaining experience co-directing club races or becoming race directors. If interested, please contact Ben.

Marine Corps Marathon Volunteers

DCRRC will again be supporting the Marine Corps Marathon at water stop #2 in Georgetown. The race is on Sunday, October 31st, and volunteers can sign up now. Use this link to get to the MCM Volunteer page, and then enter the double-super-secret password “MCMDCRRC” to get our specific registration site for the water stop. Enter your personal information and you're all set! Any questions, contact Ted Cochrane. Volunteering for this event will count for the 2021-22 Snowball Series.

Constant Needs:

We are always looking for Saturday Long Run refreshment volunteers. If you plan to attend SLR for at least 2 consecutive weeks, and haven't volunteered in a while (or at all), please consider helping to support the group (and yourself)! This is a fairly easy job, all you have to do is bring gatorade, water, and cups to SLR on Saturday morning, and the club will reimburse the expenses (think of all the rewards points you can get!)  Please (read: please, please, pretty please) check the SLR Page for dates needed, and e-mail slr@dcroadrunners.org if you are able to help out!

To advertise a volunteer activity, contact Delna Clark.
