2019 DCRRC Steve Thompson 8k

August 6, 2019 at 5:30pm at Lake Accotink Springfield, VA

Looking for new ways to support the club. Put your time and energy to good use by helping to coordinate a club race. Most of our races would not be possible without the help of our volunteers.  If you would like to volunteer, please sign-up here or email Ian Clements for more information.

Race-day Information: The race will start at 7500 Accotink Park Road, Springfield VA 22151. Lake Accotink may be reached from I-95 by taking Old Keene Mill Rd. west to right on Hanover Ave. Turn left on Highland Ave. and then right on Accotink Park Rd. Entrance is on the left. Click here for Google map and directions. Go about a half-mile beyond the point indicated in the Google map (which is actually the park headquarters office) ... you'll know you're in the right place when you see a big open parking area with an elevated railroad trestle.  Park in this area.  The race starts on the edge of the lake, on the right side of the spillway as you're facing it from the parking lot.

CALLING ALL DCRRC MEMBERS, MCM RUNNERS AND THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

October 27, 2019 DCRRC will again be staffing a water stop at the 44th Marine Corps Marathon on October 27th.  We’ll be at stop #2 in Georgetown, near the corner of 33rd St. and M St., NW. This is the same place we’ve been for the last several years.

Our assignment is hidden from the public for registration purposes. To register, go to the MCM volunteer portalat http://xactllc.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=38574 and use “MCMDCRRC” as the password to view our assignment. Fill out your information and your all set.

If interested, please register before early October.  MCM ends their online registration at this time in order to prepare for the event. They do NOT allow volunteers at the race if they aren’t pre-registered.

Ted Cochrane (ted.cochrane@verizon.net) will be the team captain. Please email him with any questions.

Constant Needs:

We are always looking for Saturday Long Run refreshment volunteers. If you plan to attend SLR for at least 2 consecutive weeks, and haven't volunteered in a while (or at all), please consider helping to support the group (and yourself)! This is a fairly easy job, all you have to do is bring gatorade, water, and cups to SLR on Saturday morning, and the club will reimburse the expenses (think of all the rewards points you can get!)  Please (read: please, please, pretty please) check the SLR Page for dates needed, and e-mail slr@dcroadrunners.org if you are able to help out!
