Next Races: Langley 8K and Club Challenge 10-Miler

The fifth and sixth races in the 2019-2020 Snowball Series are the Langley 8K on Saturday, February 8th and the Maryland RRCA Club Challenge Ten Miler on Sunday, February 23rd.

The Langley 8K proceeds along Georgetown Pike before wending its way through a hilly residential area in the CIA's backyard. Click here for more information and online registration; or click here if you (or a friend or family member) can volunteer at the race.

Registration is filling up fast for the Club Challenge Ten Miler. We will cover registration fees for all our club members and will provide a free charter bus from the Courthouse area in Arlington and Dupont Circle to and back from the race. Free is good! Click here for the Howard County Striders' race information pages. But don't register that way; Club Members click here to register with our discount. And click here to sign up for the bus.

So many links to click on ... leave some time to run, too!

DC Road Runners Annual Banquet & Membership Meeting

Calling all members ... this is a DC Road Runners Club signature event and is family friendly. Again it will be at Maggiano's Little Italy in Friendship Heights, on Sunday, March 1, starting at 6PM. The evening features our annual club awards, elections of a new board of directors, state-of-the-club presentation and a great guest speaker.

So come on out. Get caught up on all the club is doing, have some fun with your fellow runners while they are all dressed up and of course, VOTE! We will present our annual awards for most outstanding and improved athletes (including the newly-added Grand Masters category), we will recognize our top coach and volunteer, and we will have a DC Road Runners Club Hall of Fame induction.

You must register in advance. Don't wait, space is limited. Here is the link to register.

We're pleased to announce our lineup of Spring Race teams for the Rock'n'Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon (March 28), the Cherry Blossom Ten Miler (April 5), and the Boston Marathon (April 20).

You can join a Rock'n'Roll team when you register for the race. If you've already registered, sign up for a DC Road Runners Club team here. Our club and our runners can get some nice perks if enough folks sign up, so be sure to join.

Please email Toni Diegoli if you have any questions.

Rock'n'Roll Marathon Water Station

DCRRC will again support the Rock'n'Roll Marathon by staffing a water stop on Saturday, March 28. We’ll be at Water Stations #9 and #11 (mile 16.5 & 19.8, same spot passed twice) at Nicholson St. SE, between Anacostia Dr. and Fairlawn Ave. This is an entry into Anacostia Park, right by the John Phillip Sousa Bridge (Pennsylvania Ave.).

Here’s how to sign up: 1) Click here. 2) Enter the secret password “WS9”. 3) Enter your personal information. Easy, right? (We know it says "Friday, March 27"; we're trying to get that fixed.)

Email Ted Cochrane fo'mo'info or if you have questions. Volunteering counts for Snowball Series credit!

Cherry Blossom Volunteer Opportunity

DC Road Runners will be volunteering at this year’s Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Race by helping at packet pickup (sorry, sold out) and expo support (the people stationed around the Expo guiding people to the right place - packets, t-shirts, the speakers clinics, etc.) on Friday, April 3, from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM. Volunteering gets you a transferable guaranteed entry into the 2021 race. (It will be at the regular price, but you'll bypass the lottery.) You also get a long-sleeved shirt, and there’s a Volunteer Appreciation Party immediately after our shift ... free beer, pizza and other goodies! Volunteering counts for Snowball Series credit!

Click here to sgn up at the CB10 volunteer website, using the the password “DCRR” that takes you directly to our shift. Fill in your personal information, choose "DC Road Runners" from the group pull-down menu, and you’re all set.
