Board Meeting Update And Social Events

Club Members and Friends, I come to you this evening as a guest blogger in the President’s Blog, because Ed is having some internets (intentional misspelling) trouble…

We just wanted to give you a short update from tonight’s board meeting.

The club will be electing a new Board of Directors at the upcoming Banquet, Election, and Award ceremony. The tentative slate for the new board is as follows:

President: Peter Lamberton
Vice President (Races): Ben Richter
Vice President (Training): Kenny Ames
Vice President (Operations): Karol Murray
Treasurer: George Getek
Secretary: Kevin D'Amanda
MD Representative: Aaron Cheskis
VA Representative: Brian Danza
DC Representative: Sasha Sibert
At-large: Mike Collins
At-large: Elizabeth Humphrey

If you have any questions or comments, please refer them to the nominating committee by emailing Kerry.

On that note we would like to remind you that the club banquet is coming up. This is a great event to mingle with other members of the club in a social environment, or to ask the club board any questions you may have. It will be held on March 22, 2009, 5:00 pm at Maggiano's in Washington DC. More event details and online registration can be found on the event calendar. Cost for ALL attendees will be $15.00 (The Club heavily subsidizes this event, so the fee covers only a portion of the total cost.)

If you are in an especially social mood as spring rolls in, we also encourage you to attend the Marathon Training / Club Members happy hour on Thursday evening at Sette Bello in Clarendon. Details for this are also in the club calendar, but if you already know all about it, feel free to RSVP directly on the Evite.

While I am doing this, I would like to remind you that we are still lookin for National Marathon team Members, as well as a full line up of runners for Tom’s Run. Please check out the Race Team page for more details on both.

See you on Wednesday at the track.

Brian.
