Club Members and Guests:

1. Board Nominations: The following slate of officers and directors will stand for election at the Annual Meeting on March 25, 2007:

President: Edward Grant

VP Operation: Kerry O'Bren

VP Races: Joe Racine

Treasurer: George Getek

Maryland: Aaron Cheskis

Virginia: Ian Clements

DC: Rob & Judy Wolfe

At-Large: Robin Martz

At-Large: Ben Richter

Membership Secretary: Toni Marie Diegoli

In lieu of a Newsletter Editor, Bill Bondurant, our website manager, will also serve on the Board.

Nominations to contest any of these seats can be submitted through the petition process outlined in the Club's by-laws. Due to the moving up of the annual meeting to March, and the short time available, deadlines for such submissions will be extended until March 22nd. Toni Marie Diegoli will be responsible for preparation of ballots.

2. BOARD MEETING MARCH 12: The Board had a productive meeting, discussing the budget for 2007-2008, annual awards, and other items. Minutes will be posted on the website. I will have more to say in a forthcoming blog about key items to be discussed at the Annual meeting, and a draft of the proposed budget will be posted on the website before the meeting.

3. 10K at Fort Hunt: Sunday March 18: The final Snowball Series race will be held Sunday, March 18, at Fort hunt Park. See Race Schedule for details. A few volunteers are needed. Please contact race director Matt Pyle if you can help.

4. Banquet and Elections: Our Club's annual meeting and banquet will take place on Sunday, March 25th, at the Clarendon Grill in Arlington, starting at 4:00 pm. As promised, we have a very exciting speaker: Chris Lear, author of "Running With the Buffaloes" and "Sub 4:00: Alan Webb and the Quest for the Fastest Mile." Chris is a native of New Jersey, and ran at both The Pingry School and Princeton University, where he was a teammate of All-American Scott Anderson, a regular participant in the Club's Wednesday night workouts.

5. 10K Training Program: Our "goal" race for the 10K training program is the Capitol Hill 10K in May -- so there is still plenty of time to get in shape. More information is available under the "Programs" button to your left. Please contact program coordinator Peter Lamberton if you are interested in joining the group as a coach or as a runner. plamberton@yahoo.com

6. Wednesday Workout: This week's workout will be repeat 1000Ms at 5K pace, with a 400M recovery jog. The 400M should be quite lesurely, to allow adequate recovery. 5 repeats is the usual maximum. See you at the track!
