1. Wednesday Night on the Track: We are on the trail this week! There will be rain on the trail Wednesday night, so come prepared. We will meet at the south end of the stadium, along Washington Blvd. First groups will go out at 7:00 pm. Workout will be 2 minutes on, 1 minute off -- to work on a bit of speed, and provide some flexibility in the event of inclement weather. Speed should be pretty hard -- what you would do 600M repeats in on the track. Repeats should be no more than 8 -- that will be enough at that speed and in these conditions. Come prepared to run. Boston folks, if you do show, should do only 5 repeats, at a slower pace.
2. Snowball Awards Banquet: April 23rd, 7:00 pm, at Cactus Cantina on Wisconsin Avenue, just north of the Cathedral. Please come enjoy appetizers and drinks while honoring your fellow runners! RSVP to Toni Diegoli at

1. Wednesday Night on the Track: We are back on the track this week! The workout will be dircted by Max "Honorary Kiwi" Reid. At Max's suggestion, we will postpone the "5-minutes @ 5K with 5 min. rest" workout, usually done the first week of April, and do defined distance intervals instead. We will do 800M repeats at 5K pace. Those running Boston or other spring marathons can do these as "Yassoo 800s" -- aim to run the 800s in the "same time," minutes and seconds, as you aim to do your marathon in hours and minutes.
2. Speaking of Boston . . . Arlington County Board Vice-Chair Walter Tejada will be at the track on Wednesday April 4 at 6:45 to read the proclamation declaring Monday, April 16, 2007, as Arlington Boston Marathon Day. This annual event is recognition of the fine relationship between Arlington County and its many runners. Please come out, even if you are not running Boston, to encourage our Boston participants and thank the County for all of its support.
3. Call for Newsletter Items: Our copy deadline for the DCRRC Newsletter portion of RacePacket is the end of this week. I am accepting news and feature items, which should be brief given our limited space.
4. Snowball Results Posted: Results of the Snowball Series are posted to the left, top button. Please check and make sure your records are accurate. Deadline for finalizing is Friday April 6th.
