VOLUNTEER - 2022 George Washington Birthday Marathon

We regret to announce that we must cancel the 2022 George Washington's Birthday Marathon and relay. One of the jurisdictions that must grant us a permit for the race denied our application, citing that "the community transmission level for COVID is high in Prince George's County, Maryland." Needless to say, we are disappointed in this outcome.

We thank the many Marathon supporters who volunteered for the event. We plan to return in 2023, COVID and other conditions permitting. For those who like the course through Greenbelt and Beltsville, please consider our Larry Noel 15K race on Labor Day Sunday, September 4th, 2022. Same start, same finish, a bit shorter in the middle and, we promise, no threat of snow, ice and hypothermia.

'Til next year ... .

DC Road Runners Club will be hosting the 60th annual George Washington's Birthday Marathon and Marathon Relay on Sunday,  February 20, 2022 in Greenbelt and Beltsville, MD. This race is a Boston qualifier with a local, small crowd feel.
The club needs lots of volunteers to put on this event  race day, including course marshals, aid station personnel, food service at the post-race party, packet pick-up, course clean-up, as well as course set-up and packet pick-up on Saturday.
All volunteers will receive an AWESOME long sleeve volunteer tech shirts and plenty of free food throughout the day!
Note: for people running the 2021-22 DCRRC Snowball Series races, volunteering at the George Washington Birthday Marathon fulfills your volunteer requirement.
