SMR March 17 - A Run Down to Georgetown

Time: 8:00AM

Location: Fuse Pilates in Dupont Circle area (2008 Hillyer Rd NW Washington, DC)

Distance: 4-10 miles

Happy St. Patrick's Day and good luck to all the runners racing in the Rock and Roll USA Half and Full Marathons Saturday. If you are not participating in the races, please join us at Fuse Pilates for the SMR.

Please be mindful of the traffic and road closures for the race. We are encouraging SMR runners to take metro, bike, run, or walk to Fuse this weekend.

As always this is a social run and you can tailor any of the routes to meet your running needs. If you need help or have questions, please email Kristi@dcroadrunners.org.

Remember, Fuse opens 10 minutes prior to the start of our runs. If you arrive any earlier the doors will be locked, so just wait outside (but you are in the right place!). The SMR runs do not have a sign-in/sign-out so please make sure to stick with a buddy and please click on the route pre-run to decide what option you would like to do. We run rain or shine, but will post on this site if at any time the runs are canceled due to serious inclement weather.

Routes for this week

All routes this week are an out and back. We will begin all routes taking a left out of Fuse and making the first left onto 21st and then a right on P Street. Run over Rock Creek Parkway and take a left on the Rock Creek Park Trail, heading south toward Georgetown. When you get to the waterfront, take a right at the Boathouse and run by the Waterfront to the Capital Crescent Trail.

  • 4-mile option: Turn around at the head of the Capital Crescent Trail.
  • 9.5-mile option: Turn around after Fletcher's Boathouse when you reach the bridge that crosses over the Canal.

Following our runs Fuse offers several different Pilates classes (at cost). There's a 9:30am Runners Class with Tori, a 9:30am Chair Class with Mariska, a 10:45am Mat Class with  Mariska , and/or a NEW 10:45 Fuse Toys with Laci!

Fuse offers several first-timers class specials and 10% off all other classes and packages for DC Road Runners. So make sure and tell them you're from the running club! It's a great way to get a full well-rounded Saturday morning workout (run then Pilates!).
