SLR April 16 - Ross Drive

Hello Saturday Runners!

This week's route is one of my personal favorites, a 14.5 mile run to Ross Drive (additoinal map here). It's a great DC route with a mix of Georgetown city streets, trails, and quiet wooded roads in Rock Creek Park. To go shorter than 14.5 mi, you can run out & back along the early part of the route, or to go longer one option is additional laps of Beach Dr to Ross Dr at about 3.5 mi each. We've got some excellent spring weather on tap for the entire next week, with cool nights and comfortable sunny days, so get out there and run!

Thank you Rochelle Basil for post-run beverages! We're going to need more volunteers after next week, so please let me know when you're available to help. I've also now posted our schedule through most of June on the SLR webpage, up until the week before the fall Marathon Training Program kicks off. We'll once again provide mid-run drinks for the group starting in June, so please be thinking about that as well, in terms of when you can volunteer.

Up-to-date future volunteer needs as well as a route schedule are always available on our web page, and you can email me to schedule your slot. Any time you can volunteer for at least 2 consecutive weeks is helpful, and if you can do 4 weeks (or more!) that's ideal. Volunteering is easy, and all of your expenses for supplies will be reimbursed by the club.

Happy running!

Mike
