SLR January 6 - Arlington Triangle

Hello Saturday Runners!

This week's route, on Saturday January 6, will be 16 miles around the Arlington Triangle loop (downloads: cue sheet and GPS) for 16 miles. Since this route is a single large loop, your best/easiest bet for a shorter run is to start out with the group and simply turn around at half your distance to make it an out & back. It's going to be very cold on Saturday morning, with temperature around 10 F and wind chill around -10 F, so layer up and wear your warmest gloves!

Thank you Bonnie Harvey for post-run drinks! We will need more volunteers after next week, so take a look at your calendar and let me know what you can do. The weekly schedule of volunteers, routes, and distances is always kept up-to-date on the SLR web page, and you can email me any time to book your slot. For more info on how volunteering works, please first see the SLR FAQ, and after that get in touch with me if you'd like any additional details.

The next upcoming club race (free for members) is the Al Lewis Ten Miler this weekend where we also have a particular need for volunteers, followed by the JFK 20K and MLK 5K the next week. Both of these are on Saturday mornings though, which would mean all of you missing SLR, so I can't recommend them too highly ;)

One last call this week for 2017 club awards nominations (to be presented at the Club Banquet in March 2018). We could use more nominations in any category, but especially for the volunteer award as well as masters runners' awards, so think back on all of the great accomplishments within the club this year and help your training buddies get recognized!

Happy running,

Mike
