2014 Burke Lake 12K

Burke Lake Park, Fairfax Station, VA

While the temperatures hovered in the mid-30's at onsite race registration, by the time the final race awards were presented, the sun had peeked through the clouds and the temperature had crossed the 50 degree threshold. It was a good day to run the Burke Lake trail even though the runners showed the perils of traversing the many muddy spots on the course. Congratulation to the over 130 runners who successfully completed this 12K challenge and 7th Race in the DCRRC Snowball Series. After the race, runners enjoyed post-race refreshments which included bagels w/cream cheese/peanut butter/grape jelly, various types of cookies, bananas, Gatorade and natural spring water. The event concluded with a brief awards ceremony.
