A New Time for SLR, and they're off!

Last night (Thursday) the club honored its Snowball Series award winners at a pizza dinner open to everyone at Generous George's in  Alexandria.  Thanks goes to Katie Madison and Karol Murray for setting up the event.

The SLR will meet at its new time of 7 am this Saturday, june 6th at Iwo Jima.  This is also the first meeting place and time for the Marathon Training Program.  A 10-mile run on the C&O Canal is scheduled.  Online late registration for the MTP is available at this website.  The Stride Clinic, a part of the MTP, is this Sunday, June 7th.

The Triple Crown Races are this Saturday, June 6th, at Fort Hunt Park in Alexandria at 8:30 am.  Anyone who would like to volunteer at this horse-themed set of races, in order to meet their yearly club volunteer commitment to be eligible for a Bunion Derby award, please contact the race director James Scarborough at James.Scarborough@med.navy.mil.

Tuesday evening June 9th at Bluemont Park in Arlington at 7 am is the Women's Distance Festival 5K, followed half an hour later by the men's RATW 5K.  Anyone who would like to volunteer at this event in order to meet their yearly club volunteer commitment to be eligible for a Bunion Derby award, please contact the race director Bob Selin-Williams at bob@selin-williams.org

Online registration at this website is open for the club's Ten-Mile Group training Program, which in 2009 is the exclusive training program for the Army Ten-Miler Race in October.  The Program starts on July 11th for runners able to go 3 miles on that date, for all others the Program starts on June 13th.  Online registration is also open on this website for the National Capital 20Miler/5Miler in September.  The race is capped at 500 total runners, so don't get shut out.
