Snowball Series Begins!

Club Members and Guests --

First, if you did not get a chance to read my comments regarding the death of Nicholas Rapavi, please click on the archive button below. Please keep the memory of Nicholas, and the comfort of Dr. Paul Rapavi and his family, in your thoughts and prayers.

Second, the Snowball Series begins with the Belle Haven Half-Marathon tomorrow, December 2nd, at the kind hour of 9:30 a.m. Thanks to race director Gene Fox and his volunteer crew for making the race possible. If you are travelling through Old Town Alexandria to get to the race, please allow yourself extra time due to the annual Scottish Walk Christimas event.

Third, our "volunteer to score" policy first adopted for last season's Bunion Derby will again be in effect. Plan now for which race you want to volunteer for. You can fulfill this eligibility requirement by helping out at the Greenbelt Marathon in February -- an event that always needs extra help.

Fourth, thanks to all those who made the Turkey Trot in Alexandria such a success. Thanks especially to co-race director Paul Thompson, to finish line coordinator Susan Hage, and to Susan and to Matt Pyle for compiling and posting the results in record time. We had 985 female and 1130 male finishers -- another great turn-out. Those who volunteered at this race have already met their Snowball Series volunteer eligibility requirement.

Run well at the Half-Marathon!

Go Army, Beat Navy!

or is it?

Go Navy, Beat Army!

I'm sure I will get a lot of email telling which is correct!
