DCRR SLR Facebook Group and Strava Art

Hi Runners,

Since we can’t meet in a large group, I have been thinking of ways to make long runs more fun and hold ourselves accountable. My solution? Strava art!

What is Strava art? The Festivus run is a great example, and there are some really creative examples in this article. How do you make Strava art?

  • Join the DCRR SLR Facebook group
  • Sign up for Strava (it is free) or use a smartwatch that maps your routes
  • Plan your route
  • Run while tracking your route on your watch or with your phone using the Strava app
  • Take a screen shot of your art and share it with the Facebook group and on Strava!
  • Questions? Please feel free to reach out to me.

Keep your eyes peeled for an August challenge with some fun prizes!

You can also use the Facebook group for connecting with other runners in a self-organized, small, and unofficial capacity if you feel safe to do so. Please remember to be smart and transparent about your risk tolerance. If you wish to connect, please share when and where you plan to run along with your preferred pace and distance.

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome! I have never done Strava art and am excited to give it a try
