SLR December 21 - Christmas Tree Run

Hello Saturday Runners!

This week's SLR is the annual Christmas Tree Run (downloads: cue sheet and GPS)! The route goes past a few of DC's largest and/or most well known trees, at the White House, City Center, Union Station, and the Capitol. As mapped the route is 10 miles, but if you'd like to run 12 miles to match MTP's scheduled distance then I'd suggest taking a left on E. Capitol St. as you're heading south on 1st St NE, and running out and back to Lincoln Park (13th St NE) before resuming the route.

Thank you Kenneth Riley for post-run drinks this week! We will need more volunteers in February and beyond, so please let me know when you can help. The weekly schedule of volunteers, routes, and distances is always kept up to date on the SLR web page, and you can email me any time to book your slot. For general info on how volunteering works see the SLR FAQ or send me an email if you have any other specific questions.

Nominations for 2019 club awards (presented at the Club Banquet in March 2020) will be accepted until January 5, 2020. You may submit multiple nominations, for the same or different awards, and self-nominations (anonymous or not) are allowed. Also, we have added a grand-masters (60+) category to the awards this year. This is your annual chance to recognize the outstanding achievements of all the great runners with us every week at SLR!

Happy running,

Mike
