SLR September 28 - Arlington Triangle

Hello Saturday Runners!

This Saturday on September 28, our route will be the classic 16 mile Arlington Triangle (downloads: cue sheet and GPS). Note that along the Custis trail there's a trail closure near the I-66 underpass near Westover Park and the W&OD intersection, but there's an easy detour which will hardly add any distance. Since this is a loop route, your best bet to shorten it to less than 16 miles would be to just run out & back on the route along Mt. Vernon Trail and beyond, up to half of your target distance.

Thank you Kyle Edgerton for post-run drinks, and Kate Scott for this week's mid-run drinks! Mid-run drinks will be located at the W&OD trailhead in Shirlington, at about 7 miles. We're now covered for drinks through all runs currently on the schedule, so thanks to all the volunteers! If you can help with post-run drinks in November and beyond, please feel free to send me an email to pre-claim your slot before I post an extended schedule. The weekly schedule of volunteers, routes, and distances is always kept up-to-date on the SLR web page, and you can email me any time to book your slot. For general info on how volunteering works see the SLR FAQ or send me an email if you have any other specific questions.

If you can't make it to SLR, this Sunday on 9/29, DCRRC will be putting on the National Capital 20 Miler and 5 Miler races. This is a great tune-up race for fall marathons, and your last opportunity to volunteer for the Bunion Derby. For complete info and registration, follow the link above.

Happy running,

Mike
