SLR December 22 - Christmas Tree Run

Hello Saturday Runners!

NOTE: Start time is returning to 8:00 am this week, after a one-time early start last week.

This week's route is SLR's annual Christmas Tree Run (downloads: cue sheet and GPS), which will take you past a number of DC's largest decorated trees! The mapped route is 10 miles, but if you'd like to make it 12 to fit the Marathon Training Program's scheduled mileage this week, you can add on to make it up. Any number of additions will work, but I'd recommend taking a left on E Capitol St when you're heading south on 1st St NE, and running out and back to Lincoln Park before resuming the mapped route, to get a total distance of 12 miles.

Thank you Steve Kuhn for post-run drinks this week, and Jonny Pellish for filling in for me! We will need more volunteers in January and beyond, so please let me know when you can help. The weekly schedule of volunteers, routes, and distances is always kept up-to-date on the SLR web page, and you can email me any time to book your slot. For general info on how volunteering works see the SLR FAQ or send me an email if you have any other specific questions.

Nominations for 2018 club awards (presented at the Club Banquet in March 2019) will be accepted until January 6, 2019. You may submit multiple nominations, for the same or different awards. Self-nominations are allowed. This is your annual chance to recognize the outstanding achievements of your SLR buddies!

Happy running,

Mike
