SLR June 15 - Long Bridge Park

Hello Saturday Runners!

This Saturday, June 15th we will be running a new route (and you're gonna love it), the Long Bridge Park/ Crystal City loop, clocking in at 15 miles.  Check the cue sheet and map ahead of time - I will also be giving an overview of everything Saturday morning.

Please thank Franco Ordonez for our post-run drinks!  Joe Emerson will also be out there supporting mid-run drinks to keep us cool.  As always we seek drink volunteers for the coming months - August and September are wide open.  Email slr@dcroadrunners.org if you can help out.

The route is 15 miles as-is.  If you wish to add on a few, you can continue on the Mt. Vernon trail north and make a loop around Roosevelt Island for about a 17.5 mile total run.

To shorten the route to a 12.5 mile run: after you run through Crystal City and as you are heading south on S. Potomac Ave, take a right on South Glebe Road.  Carefully cross Rt. 1, and take a left to continue south on Rt. 1.  Very soon you will see the entrance ramp to the 4 Mile Run trail on your right.  Take this down to loop under Rt. 1 and you will hit the Mt. Vernon Trail shortly.  Take a left on Mt. Vernon trail to head north back to Iwo Jima.

Have a great run!

-- Erik
