2020 Spring Half-Marathon Training Program

The DCRR Spring Half-Marathon Training Program is designed for those racing the Rock 'n' Roll DC Half-Marathon, and we welcome athletes running other spring marathons as well. The program is open to any healthy adult at virtually any level of athletic ability. There is no speed requirement and all paces are welcome. The training program, with expert coaching, includes Saturday morning group training runs and mid-week speed workouts. The 13-week program starts on December 28, 2019 at Georgetown Running Company.

In order to get the most from your training program, we strongly encourage that at the start of the program your weekly running mileage be at least 9 miles with a long run of 3 miles.

The Training Program includes:

  • Weekly group Saturday morning long runs
  • Overall training schedule
  • Weekly track sessions
  • Several social events
  • Weekly email tips
  • Special appearances, lectures and giveaways

Membership in DC Road Runners is required to participate in the program.  The half-marathon training program is $25 for current DCRRC members. You must also select and register for a half-marathon on your own (no guaranteed or free entries are provided by DCRRC). Training program members are also encouraged to participate in / volunteer at the club's many free races and events, which are included in your membership fee. We are all part of the DMV's running community and it's up to us to keep it inclusive and vibrant!

The DC Road Runners Club is a member of the Road Runners Club of America and is also affiliated with USA Track & Field. We provide a year-round schedule of running events that offer everyone a chance to participate regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability.
