2017 One Mile and 3K Track Championships

The Club's annual 1-Mile and 3K track championships will take place Saturday, July 15, starting at 4:00 pm.

The 2017 event will once again be held at Dunbar High School in the heart of Washington, D.C.

Tentative Schedule:

Registration and bib pickup starts at 3:30 pm

  • 4:00 Kid's Mile
  • 4:20 Racewalk Mile
  • 4:45 Masters Mile Men
  • 5:10 Master Mile Ladies
  • 5:30 Mile Ladies heat 1 Women's any pace above 7:00
  • 5:45 Mile Men heat 1 Men's any pace above 7:00
  • 6:00 Mile heat 2 mixed under 7:00
  • 6:10 Mile heat 3 mixed under 6:30
  • 6:26 Mile heat 4 mixed under 6:00
  • 6:34 Mile heat 5 mixed under 5:45
  • 7:10 Mile heat 6 fast ladies under 5:45
  • 7:20 Mile heat 7 fast men under 5:00
  • 7:30 Elite 800 Ladies
  • 7:35 Elite 800 Men
  • 7:40 Elite Mile Ladies (under 5:15)
  • 7:50 Elite Mile Men (under 4:20)
 
3K heats depending on runners present
  • 8:00 3K (1st heat - Masters and slower runners)
  • 8:15 3K (2nd heat - Open and faster runners

The Track Championships are FREE to all runners, member and non-member alike.  We request that runners pre-register to help us plan better, but show-ups-and-sign-ups are welcome too!

Mile Race Prize money (elite heats):

1st: $100
2nd: $50 
3rd: $25

Men's Mile record: Bert Rodriguez 4:21.6
Women's Mile record: Alisa Harvey 4:48.7

Masters Awards:

Masters must run in the masters heats to be elegible for awards. 

Location:
As a reminder, the track meet is at Dunbar High School this year. please enter the track on the O Street Side of the school.
 
 
Parking:
You may park on the streets surrounding Dunbar High School (O, N, 1st, streets NW) as well as the parking lot at Friendship Armstrong academy on O Street NW.
 
Metro:
NOMA metro stop on the Red Line
Mt Vernon Square/Convention center Stop on the Green/Yellow line
Both metro stations are around half a mile from the track.
