2015 JFK 20K & MLK 5KThe 2015 JFK 20k & MLK 5k has moved locations! Please note: We are no longer hosting the race at the Carderock Location. Instead, we have moved the location to Fletcher's Boat House-- still running on the C&O Towpath. Details below. The 20K will count as the fourth DC Road Runners Snowball Series race. Distance and course: This races will feature both a 20K and a 5K on the C&O Towpath. The 20K course will be an out-and-back from Fletchers towards 495 (away from Georgetown). The 5K course will be an out-and-back from Fletchers in the same direction as the 20k. Registration: Please Register online before the race. There will be no race day registrations. Online registration will close at 7:00 P.M. on January 16. Want to run both races? Then please register twice, once for each distance ... you'll have to use two different email addresses to do this. Packet Pickup: You can get your bib on the race site where there will be volunteers. There is no pre-race day packet pick-up this year. We ask that the 20k runners do not arrive before 9:30 to allow for the 5k runners to leave and open up parking for the 20k. Please be aware of vehicles entering and exiting the park and use extra caution- especially when going under the bridge! 5K runners should fill up the upper lot, first. Refund policy for low key races: In the event the race is canceled, pre-paid non-members will receive a credit to be applied to a future low-key race. NPS Race Rules: These races take place in the National Park Service's jurisdiction. Please familiarize yourself and comply with our NPS Race Rules.
Race-day Information: Please arrive early to pick up your timing chip. We plan to start the race on the C&O towpath just North of the bridge at Fletcher's Boat House. Timing and Awards: This race is timed using the Chronotrack timing system. Please familiarize yourself with how the timing tags work by visiting the Chronotrack website. Volunteers: Race director Bethany Britz needs volunteers to assist with runner check-in, course marshals and post race refreshments. Please email her if you are able to volunteer.
