June 2 HPT tempo run

You ready to run fast in a sauna? because this week it begins.

The group will do basically the same thing we did last week, extending tending the tempo section a couple more minutes.

Start at the Iwo Jima memorial at 6:30, warm up to the Jefferson Memorial. For people meeting us on the DC side, we will be at Jefferson around 6:55 meet us in front of the snack stand on the SW side of the memorial.

This week we will begin the tempo section under the 14th street Bridge on the west side of Hains Point, running to the intersection of Ohio and Bukeye, crossind to the other side of Hains point, making a left on Ohio drive, then a left on Basin Drive to the jefferson Memorial, finally following Rock Creek trail all the way back up to Georgetown.

The plan is 22 Minutes tempo, which should get us from the 14th street bridge to somewhere near Georgetown on the Rock Creek trail.

After tempo we will all gather back up at Virginia Ave and Rock Creek to jog back to VA. Also, Chipotle sent out BOGO coupons, so I think it would be a good ideal to do a post workout meal there.

May 19 HPT workout -- hills!

Get Stoked, this will be our first hill workout for HPT.

We will keep it short and simple this time around.
Meet at Iwo Jima 6:30 and warm up by running 3 miles, cemetery --> Mt. Vernon Trail --> Roosevelt island parking lot --> Roslyn.
The repeats will begin at the corner of N Oak Street and Lee Highway (just north of the Marriott), and run up the Custis trail to the bridge over 66. That gives us half a mile of uphill running for each repeat.
For this week we will keep it to 4 repeats, and a 1 mile cooldown, for a total of 8 miles.
See ya there.

HPT Monday Tempo May 12

Still doing the same thing as the last two weeks, but not to worry, next week we will do the first set of hill repeats.
But for tonight
Start at the Iwo Jima memorial at 6:30, warm up to the Jefferson Memorial (for people meeting us on the DC side, we will be at Jefferson around 6:55 meet us in front of the snack stand on the SW side of the memorial), and run tempo from there.
The plan for today is 17 Minutes tempo, which should get us from Jefferson to somewhere past Georgetown on the Rock Creek trail.
After tempo we will all gather back up at Virginia Ave and Rock Creek to jog back to VA.
See ya there
B.
