Dec 29 HPT tempo run

It's the last week of 2014, let's make it a good one.

For this evening we will meet above the Iwo Jima memorial at 6:30, warm up to the Jefferson memorial, and continue on to the tennis court parking lot on the east side of Hains Point.

The tempo segment should be 19 minutes and we will begin it  at the tennis courts, running west on Buckeye Drive, making a right on Ohio Drive, and following the river all the way up to Georgetown.

A 6:00 pace should get us just past VA Ave. and Rock Creek, anything slower than that should come up just short of Georgetown.

Dec 22 HPT tempo run

I am not sure who is in town, and if anyone actually plans on running this week. But if anyone wants to run some tempo miles here is the plan.

For this evening we will meet above the Iwo Jima memorial at 6:30, warm up to the Jefferson memorial, and continue on to the tennis court parking lot on the east side of Hains Point.

The tempo segment should be 17 minutes and we will begin it  at the tennis courts, running west on Buckeye Drive, making a right on Ohio Drive, and following the river all the way up to Georgetown.

A 6:00 pace should get us to VA Ave. and Rock Creek, anything slower than that should come up just short of Georgetown.

I will not be there, so please reply to all if you plan on running with the group.

Dec 15 HPT Workout -- So it begins

According to the Gregorian Calendar the Boston Marathon is 18 weeks from today! Which means we should probably start structuring some workouts around it and Cherry Blossom (one week apart).

As we have during the last training cycles, we will start our first tempo run at 15 minutes and gradually extend it all the way up to 40 minutes three weeks before the race. Your pace should not vary much from now to then, the only difference should be the amount of time you are running at pace.

For this evening we will meet above the Iwo Jima memorial at 6:30, warm up to the Jefferson memorial, and continue on to the tennis court parking lot on the east side of Hains Point.

We will begin the tempo segment at the tennis courts, running west on Buckeye Drive, making a right on Ohio Drive, and following the river all the way up to Georgetown.

See ya tonight.
