2012 Langley 8KUpdate 1/11/2012: Due to a schedule conflict at Langley High School, the race is re-scheduled to Sunday, February 12th from Saturday, February 4th. Please join us for the fifth Snowball Series race of the season. The Langley 8K takes the place of the Custis-Capital Hospice 12K race in previous years' Snowball Series. New this year: 3K Fun Run: There will also be a 3K Fun Run that will start about five minutes after the main event. Pre-registration is not required ... just show up, sign up and run. Race Director: James Scarborough. Registration: Please register online to avoid congestion at the start. On-site registration begins at 9 a.m., one hour before the race start (10 a.m.). Entry Fee: Free for DCRRC members; $5 for non-members. Refund policy for low key races: In the event the race is canceled, pre-paid non-members will receive a credit to be applied to a future low-key race. Location and Directions: Langley High School, 6520 Georgetown Pike, Mclean VA 22101. Click here for a map and directions. There's plenty of free parking in the school's parking lot. Other information: The Langley 8K is Snowball Series Race #5. Distance and Course Description: The race starts at Langley High School. DCRRC veterans will recognize it as a race we used to run as part of the summer Bunion Derby series. The course is an out-and-back route through a residential area with several twists, turns and hills. USATF certified course; click here for a course map (.pdf). Volunteers: Please contact James Scarborough if you are available to help out before or during the race. Volunteering during the race will fulfill the Snowball Series requirement.
