2024 DCRRC Al Lewis 10-Miler and 5-Miler

Please join us for the third Snowball Series race of the season.

Event Schedule and Course:

7:00am -- Runner check-in begins

7:30am -- 10-Miler Start

7:45am -- 5-Miler Start

9:30am -- Awards Presentation begins for Overall Winners

10 Mile race will start at 7:30am and will be a double out and back around Hains Point (inside the gate to inside the gate), the 5 Mile race will start at 7:45am and go out and back once around Hains Point (inside the gate to inside the gate). Please note that runners will only get Snowball race credit for the 10 Mile race. 

Registration and Fees:

Online advance registration through 7 PM the day before the race:

$0 for club members

$10 for non-members

There will be No On-site Race Day Registration, as our permit does not allow it.

List of participants: check this list to see if you are registered.  Our email confirmations sometimes end up in your spam folder.  This list serves as alternate confirmation of your registration.

If you signed up for the race and can no longer run please email races@dcroadrunners.org to inform us of your cancelation.  There will be no refund for canceling but you will open up a spot for a fellow runner.

Refund Policy:  We have a strict no refund, no transfer and no deferral policy on all of our low key races.  However, in the event we are forced to cancel this race due to weather or other unforeseen events we will make every attempt to reschedule this race on another date.  In this event, your registration would automatically carry over to the new date.  If you are unable to run this new date or we are unable to find a new date for the race we will grant you free entry into another of our low key races in which room is available.

Volunteers: We always need additional help in putting on these races. Please sign up here, if you (or a family member who is accompanying you to the race) can assist.

Directions to the race: The race will follow Ohio Dr SW, around Hains Point on East Potomac Park, Washington, DC. The starting line will be on Ohio Dr SW, close to the entrance to the Golf range, at the Eastern Gate to East Potomac Park, facing the Washington Channel (you see the Warf on the other side of the water).

By Car from 395 Take Exit 2 from 395 North or Ohio Drive form 395 South. tennis court on Buckeye Drive or at the side of the street on Ohio Drive. Parking there will be limited, so first-come-first-serve. Otherwise, you can park at Parking Lot B NPS on the Potomac side of the Peninsula; from 395 South, take a right at Ohio Dr, and then right at Buckeye Dr SW. Try to park at the tennis court parking. If parking is full proceed to Parking Lot B NPS. If both parking lots are full, continue on Ohio Dr SW for street parking after the bridge.

Timing:  This race is timed using the Chronotrack timing system.

Awards:  Prizes will be given out to the top 3 overall men and women.  Also, 1st place Masters man and woman.

Stroller and Dog Policy:  In addition to the many race participants this road also remains open to the public for use by walkers, runners and bicyclers. Policy for dogs and strollers to be confirmed shortly.

Headphone Policy:  The use of headphones is strongly discouraged at all DCRR Club races.

Distance and Course Description: The course is NOW certified. Click this link to see the course map.  The entire course will be on a paved road.  There will be a water stop at Hains Point that runners will pass four times during the race.
