Come celebrate The Storming of the Bastille, and the beginning of the French Revolution. Like in years past, the Bastille Day 4-Miler will be a double out and back race on the Capital Crescent Trail, starting at Fletcher's Cove. This is the fourth Bunion Derby Race. Registration: Online by clicking this link until the day before the race, or day of race the race on location starting at 6:00pm. Note: Non-members must register in advance, as our race permit does not allow us to exchange money on National Park Service grounds. Fees: Free for DCRRC members, $5 for non-members. Location: Fletcher's Boat House 4940 Canal Rd NW, Washington, DC Directions to Fletcher's Boathouse: From DC/Georgetown vicinity of Key Bridge: head north on M Street, which becomes Canal Road. See Georgetown University on your right. Hoya Saxa! 0.6 mile past Key Bridge, the road splits at a traffic signal; Foxhall Road peels off to the right, but you'll stay left and continue on Canal Road. 1.6 miles past the traffic signal, there will be an inconspicuous driveway on the left (river side) of the road; turn down this driveway. There is some parking just after the turnoff; if this lot is full, go through the culvert under the C&O Canal to get to the large parking lot by the Boathouse. Note: Canal Road is one-way, outbound from D.C., from 2:45 to 7:15 pm weekdays. Volunteers: as with every race, we will need many volunteers to help coordinate the race events, please e-mail Brian if you would like to volunteer, and remember that this counts toward your bunion derby volunteer requirement.
