At 3 pm, race director Scott Boggess and DCRRC president Ed Grant listened to the weather forecast for thunderstorms and decided to shorten the distance, and looking at the weather at 6 pm, Scott decided to change the distance from 10K to 8K.

Then at 6:45 pm, with traffic tied up on I-295, I-395, I-495, and Route 1 -- and only 20 runners on-site -- Scott decided to delay the start from 7:00 pm to 7:15 pm.

Ted Poulos scored the win ahead of Karsten Brown, and Johanna Allen topped Toni Marie Diegoli for the women's win.

Race director Scott Boggess thanks all the volunteers: Janet Abbate, Ted Baca, Lee Glassco, Kim Hutchinson, Blair Jones, Mark Kerski, Brigid McEvilly, Eamonn McEvilly, Kerry O'Brien, Kenneth Schoppmann George Souza, and Jay Jacob Wind.
