Reports:

Track Workouts & Saturday Long Run:  The track is now open on Wednesday nights for the duration of the winter.  Workouts will return to normal with a 7:15pm start time.  SLR has switched the start time for the winter to 8am.

Races:  Ben Richter shared tales of the Greenbelt 15k and his great work with this race was recognized.  Upcoming races include the Turkey Trot, for which volunteers are needed, the Bread Run 10k, Gar WilliamÕs Half Marathon, and the New YearÕs Day 5k.  The Bread Run marks the beginning of the 2006-2007 Snowball Series.  As with the Bunion Derby, members will be required to volunteer at a Club event in order to earn an award in the Series.

Finances:  Getek reported that the Club is still awaiting certain checks from some of its bigger races.  Much of the 2006-07 clothing budget remains, and ordering more DCRRC shirts was discussed.  A new supervisor of Club merchandise has stepped forward, Carol Murray, and will look into ordering as well as expanding merchandise to more area stores.

Membership:  DCRRC membership statistics by gender, state, member type, age group and gender, and age group and state are available online.

Other Business:

1.        Club Awards:  New Awards Supervisors Judy and Rob Wolfe will be looking into ordering new and different awards for Club races.  They requested that a location for storage of the awards be arranged.

2.        Club Donation: Racine reported that the proposal for donating a water fountain on the Mt. Vernon trail had been submitted and was awaiting response by the park service.

3.        2007 Race Calendar: Approved with small changes for posting on website.  Platt offered to return the One Hour Track run to the calendar by serving as the race director.  James Scarborough is going to obtain a permit for the JFK 20k at a location of his choice.

4.        National Marathon:  The Club has agreed to becoming a partner as well as to field teams in the race.

Grant adjourned the meeting at 9pm.

Next meeting:  Monday, January 15, 2007.
