Maher called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
Committees/Reports:
Treasurer: Getek distributed a report that showed total assets in excess of $42,000. He reported that he put $20,000 into a CD.
Membership: Maguire reported that she recently sent out 70 renewal letters to members.
Training programs:
Marathon Training Program – Maher reported that the
program was a success and that Joe Boys will come to a future meeting to provide
a full report.
10K Training Program – Maher reported that preparations
are underway with the Arlington YMCA for the 2004 program.
Wed. night track workout – Continues successfully.
Saturday Long Run – Continues successfully.
Newsletter: The next issue will go to the printer tomorrow.
Education: Posner reported said he’s planning to have links from the club website to other websites that contain educational information about running.
Scholarship: Platt reported that he’s identified candidates and is waiting for paperwork to be completed.
Welcome Wagon: On hiatus.
Past and future races
Past: DCRRC, along with the University of Maryland cross-country team, hosted an open 5k cross-country race at the university on Oct. 11. DCRRC donated the proceeds to the university’s cross-country program.
Future:: The club needs volunteers for the Turkey Trot 5-Miler.
Executive Session:
The board conducted an executive session from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Maher adjourned the meeting at 9 p.m. The next meeting was scheduled for Dec. 11.
