Committees/Reports:
Treasurer: Getek distributed a report that showed total assets in excess of $46,000. Current spending and income are in line with the budget. He reported that the club’s certificate of deposit has matured and he’s looking for a better investment option.
Membership: No report.
Training programs:
Marathon Training Program –Continues successfully.
Wed. night track workout – Continues successfully.
Saturday Long Run – Continues successfully.
Newsletter: The new editor is Mike Larose. Tomorrow is the deadline for articles for the next issue.
Education: No report.
Scholarship: Bob Platt said he’s continuing his efforts to recruit candidates.
Welcome Wagon: No report.
Past and future races
Past: The club cancelled the National Capital 20- and 5-milers because of the damage to the race course from Hurricane Isabel.
Future:: The University of Maryland Cross-Country Team will host with DCRRC an open 5k cross-country race at the Terrapin Invitational on Oct. 11 at the University of Maryland. The entry fee will be $6, which DCRRC will donate to the university’s cross-country program.
Other Business
Stride Clinic: scheduled for January at the Arlington YMCA. The club hopes to have clinics quarterly.
2004 Race Schedule: approved.
