Grant called the meeting to order at 7:15pm.

 

Previous meeting minutes approved.

 

Reports:

 

Newsletter:  Work on the Club newsletter is on hold until further notice. 

 

Track Workouts:  Recent disruptions to the Wednesday night schedule will continue throughout the fall.  On occasion, an alternative workout will be held on Tuesday nights, which Diegoli will host. 

 

Saturday Long Run:  Progressing as usual with details available on website.  Guidelines established for start time changes:  the start time will switch from 7am to 8am on the Saturday of Columbus day weekend each year, and will switch from 8am to 7am on the Saturday of Memorial day weekend.

 

Races:  The Bunion Derby races are complete and final scoring is pending final volunteer verifications.  The next big races are the Club 20-miler and the Turkey Trot.  Volunteering has been improved with the institution of the requirement for earning a Bunion Derby award.  More concrete rules for scoring credit will be established before the start of the Snowball Series.

 

Finances:  Grant reports no significant changes from April; no official report from Getek.  Ways in which to give back to the community were discussed, including the possibility of paying for the installation of  a water fountain at Washington-Lee track or on the Mt. Vernon trail.

 

Membership:  DCRRC membership statistics by gender, state, member type, age group and gender, and age group and state are available online. 

 

Website:  Webmaster Bill Bondurant attended and distributed a handout detailing the ClubÕs web-site usage statistics.  Of note is the steady increase in hits since the web-site was re-designed.

 

Other Business: 

1.        Club Equipment:  The Club van is now located in the Federal Parking facility, Pentagon Row. 

2.        Club Merchandise: now on sale at Gotta Run.

3.        2007 Race Committee: Clements, Reid, and Diegoli will meet and propose a draft schedule for posting in October, which will be posted for membership comment.  The schedule will be finalized and subject to Board vote at the November Board Meeting.
