Maher called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.

Committees/Reports
Membership: Maher reported that the club needs a new membership chairperson.
She said that the current membership chair, Jason Gross, will serve until
the club finds a new chairperson. Maher will ensure the newsletter has instructions
for address changes.
Treasurer: Pyle, the outgoing treasurer, distributed
a report showing that club bank accounts total $40,379. He said he expects
money from the Turkey Trot 2002 to arrive soon. He reported that the club
has received a healthy amount of newsletter advertising revenue recently.
George Getek, the incoming treasurer will give future reports.
Training programs:
Marathon Training Program – Maher reported that 50 people are participating.
The runners must agree to participate in a certain minimum number of the long
runs on Saturdays.
Wed. night track workout – Grant reported that attendance has been good, with about 100 people attending the previous week.
Saturday Long Run – Posner reported that the program is going well. He suggested handing out membership forms before the long runs. He also suggested posting a banner with the club’s name and website at the runs.
Newsletter: One of the editors is stepping down, and Maher said it’s unclear whether the other editor will take over all the duties or whether the club will need to find a new editor.
Scholarship: Platt volunteered to work on soliciting applications for DCRRC scholarships. He will write an article for the newsletter and/or weekly emails.
Past and future races:
The Bunion Derby starts Saturday with the Hugh Jascourt 4 Miler.
The club’s one-hour run is scheduled for July 10 at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington. Howell Posner agreed to direct the race (his first.)
Platt reiterated the need to pay close attention to the Greenbelt course to ensure there won’t be complications due to construction.
