| Sunday 4/29/07 Highland Avenue Hill Workout |
On a bright beautiful Sunday morning in April, Peter Lamberton, April's host and fellow runner John showed up on Highland Avenue in Falls Church for a hill workout. This was John's first hill workout as he comes back from a year and a half off due to injuries. In an hour of running, they ran about 5 miles up and over the hill and back again ten times, including doing one boomerang, a sharp ascent up the steep part of the hill to the top followed by a rapid descent down a side hill and back again. They practiced their downhill running on the longer gentler slope to the east and worked for awhile at increasing our turnover rate of foot-strikes per minute as well.
