Welcome to the home of the DCRRC Hill Workouts! Hill workouts take place monthly at 8AM in the summer and 9AM in the winter.
The workouts are really hill repeats rather than hilly runs. Any and all levels of runners are welcome! Check the hill workout schedule for exact dates, times, and locations.

Sunday 4/29/07 Highland Avenue Hill Workout
On a bright beautiful Sunday morning in April, Peter Lamberton, April's host and fellow runner John showed up on Highland Avenue in Falls Church for a hill workout. This was John's first hill workout as he comes back from a year and a half off due to injuries. In an hour of running, they ran about 5 miles up and over the hill and back again ten times, including doing one boomerang, a sharp ascent up the steep part of the hill to the top followed by a rapid descent down a side hill and back again. They practiced their downhill running on the longer gentler slope to the east and worked for awhile at increasing our turnover rate of foot-strikes per minute as well.
