Distance: 4.5 miles

Registration: On-site registration begins one hour before the start of the race.

Entry Fee: $5 for non-members, free for members.

Directions: To reach the race, take Beltway exit 54 (old exit 5), West on Braddock Rd (Rt.620) about 1.6 mi to Burke Lake Rd (Rt. 645). Left about 4.5 mi to Ox Road (Rt. 123), L about 0.6 mi to first left past the golf course clubhouse, follow signs to ice cream parlour.

Other information: The race is Bunion Derby Race #8.

DCRRC Teams competing against one another in low-key events

2-person family team competition. Teams consist of 1 Adult/1 Teen, 2 Adults, or 2 Teens. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest overall team, and to the winner of each team category. There is no additional charge for team registration.

This race is a loop course consisting of one lap around Burke Lake, at Burke Lake Park, VA.

Course Surface: Approx. first 800 meters and last 1000 meters on park roads Remainder of course is on the park trail which is mostly a dirt trail, with a small paved section.

Course Terrain: Lots of light rolling along a tree-lined winding path.

Typical weather: Rain is not too uncommon this time of year. Temps in the last few years have been from the low/mid-70s to upper 80s.

Other characteristics: About 60% of the course is shaded well. It is not uncommon to see deer and other wildlife.
