SLR March 10 - Custis to W&OD

Hello Saturday Runners!

Good luck to everyone running the Rock n Roll DC Marathon or other races this weekend! For those of you who are not racing and will be at SLR, we have an extra-long run scheduled since we're now 5 weeks out from Boston, 20 miles along the Custis and W&OD trails (downloads: cue sheet and GPS). Because this is an out & back route, it's an easy one to tailor for whatever distance you like by simply turning around at your own half-way point. When you reach the W&OD trail at the Custis gazebo intersection, you'll be 5 miles out from the start. For 20 miles total, the 10 mile turn around point is just after you pass over the Beltway and before you reach Gallows Rd, near mile marker 9 on the W&OD trail.

Thank you Mary Ellen Seale for post-run drinks this week! The entire spring season SLR lineup is now posted, and we are in need of a lot more volunteers for beverages, so please get in touch with me if you can help. The weekly schedule of volunteers, routes, and distances is always kept up-to-date on the SLR web page, and you can email me any time to book your slot. For more info on how volunteering works, please first see the SLR FAQ, and after that send me an email if you'd like any additional details.

Happy running,

Mike
