SLR April 2 - Marymount Chain Bridge

Hello Saturday Runners!

This Saturday, April 2, we will be running the Marymount - Chain Bridge route (additional map here). This route gives a few easy options for distance, with the as-written route on the map and cue sheet at 14 miles. For 16.5 miles, return to Iwo Jima via the 14th St Bridge and Mt Vernon Trail. If you'd like to make it a 12 mile run, return via the Key Bridge rather than Memorial Bridge. If you're tapering for spring marathons and would like to shorten the route to 10 miles, in addition to returning via the Key Bridge, do not turn left into Taylor Park but continue straight on Military Rd until you reach Old Glebe Rd where a right turn picks up the route. Good luck to those running Cherry Blossom this weekend!

Thank you Paul and Christine Westcott for post-run beverages! Additional volunteers will be needed in a few weeks (and I'm planning to post our schedule for April thru June soon), so please let me know when you're available to help. Up-to-date future volunteer needs as well as a route schedule are always available on our web page, and you can email me to schedule your slot. Any time you can volunteer for at least 2 consecutive weeks is helpful, and if you can do 4 weeks (or more!) that's ideal. Volunteering is easy, and all of your expenses for supplies will be reimbursed by the club.

Happy running!
