This weekly 10 mile run provides the opportunity to have company for the that longer mid-week run that rounds out most marathon training programs. Routes vary among several that tour the Washington Mall, the C&O Canal as well as the Martha Custis, W&OD, and Four Mile Run Trails.

Group leader for this run is Alex Barrage.

Monday 10 Nov 20 - Mt. Daniel redux

Hi Everyone.  Since Alex was the only person that went out to do Mt. Daniel last week, she is requesting a do-over with some company this time.  We are having a few technical difficulties doing the handoff to Alex sending these but that should be fixed shortly.  Here is the route again: Mt. Daniel.

Shout out to former Monday morning run regular Jerry Handley who is now living on Long Island.  He was in the area yesterday to run the JFK 50M run.  His time an eye-popping 7:39 (9:04/mile) and after having major hip surgery just 5 months ago.  Way to go Jerry!

Congrats to Thursday morning regular Steve South for turning a solid 3:14:58 at an incredibly windy Philadelphia Marathon today.  I think this just might be a PR for Steve but will verify by the this weeks Thursday email.

On that note, reminder that there is no Track Workout this Wednesday night or Thursday morning.  If you are in town please come out and run or help at our our clubs Alexandria Tuirkey Trot 5M: https://www.alexandriaturkeytrot.com/

As always we want to let the others know who plans to attend via our separate email chain. If you are new to the Monday morning group and a DC Road Runners Club Member and you would like to get added to the RSVP email list, send email to alexbarrage@dcroadrunners.orgMeet at the Arlington Planetarium parking lot at 1426 N. Quincy Street, Arlington, VA Reminder that the run starts at 5:15am sharp and we don't wait.

Have a great run tomorrow and I wish all of you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving.

Rich

Monday 10 Nov 13 - Mt. Daniel plus leadership

Hi Everyone. Tomorrow's run is Mt. Daniel.

We have resolution on new leadership of the Monday run.  Alex has graciously stepped up to take the lead.  She will keep the weekly emails going through the website and the separate RSVP list.  She will be assisted by Mary and Andrew.  This is great news for me and all of you.  Make sure to thank them.  This will be the last of these I will send and you will hear from Alex next week.

Lots of great racing to report on this weekend from our Monday/Thursday regulars.  Read it, smile and congratulate everyone.

Freezing temps in Richmond were great for our runners.  In the Marathon, Andrew Simpson ran a a sizzling 3:02:56.  Pretty darn close to a PR which I am sure will come another day before too long.  In the half marathon ...

1:30:23 - Allan Ng, PR

1:31:25 - Carrie Dunn, PR, 2nd 40-44

1:31:41 - CaSandra Degrauwe Williamson, PR

1:34:30 - Bonnie Harvey, PR (by 3 minutes!)

1:36:01 - Eric Waskowicz

At the Charlotte Marathon Lindsey Baine got a 16 minute PR and broke 4 hours for the first time with a 3:56:50.

At the Pacers Veteran's Day 10K Kevin Cunningham ran a real strong 44:59.  I suspect this could be a PR but I am not certain.  Kevin will have to let you all know.

As always we want to let the others know who plans to attend via our separate email chain.  If you are a DCRRC member and what to get on this RSVP send email to alexbarrage@dcroadrunners.org.

Meet at the Arlington Planetarium parking lot at 1426 N. Quincy Street, Arlington, VA Reminder that the run starts at 5:15am sharp and we don't wait.

Have a great run everyone!
